TechNova is the University of Waterloo’s premier hackathon dedicated to empowering Women+ in Tech. Held annually in September, this three-day event brings together over 300 participants to collaborate, innovate, and create impactful tech solutions. The hackathon provides a platform for individuals who identify as women and gender-diverse people, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for exploring technological challenges.
The focus of TechNova is to bridge the gap between technology and global issues, encouraging participants to develop projects that tackle real-world problems. With mentorship from experts and opportunities for networking, the event highlights creativity, technical skills, and social responsibility in the tech space.
